During your stay, it’s important to understand that you have certain rights and responsibilities as one of our patients. These protections and duties are detailed on our Patient Rights and Responsibilities page. If you need help understanding them, or would like more information, please talk with a member of your health care team.
BJC Patient Engagement System
Inpatients at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital have access to interactive patient technology at the bedside. Supporting our mission to take exceptional care of people by providing health care in a compassionate, respectful, safe and responsive way, this digital system is delivered via the in-room TV as well as a tablet computer. From the main screen patients can access their health care team, view personalized health education and their daily schedule, order a room service meal or enjoy entertainment such as TV, movies and music. In addition, patients can learn about hospital services and customize settings, including preferred name and language.
Food Services and Nutrition
A well-balanced menu will be provided based on your prescribed diet, food preferences and allergies. If the menu does not meet your needs, you may be able to select special meals — but patients should not go the cafeteria for their meals. Between-meal snacks are also available upon request.
You will be served breakfast between 7 a.m.-7:30 a.m., lunch between noon-12:30 p.m., and dinner between 5 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
