Course Objectives:

The intended result of this activity is to provide primary care, OB/GYN, and oncology physicians with enhanced knowledge/competence, performance and patient outcomes. After completion of this course, participants should be able to: 
  • List the additional imaging modalities and screening programs that can be offered to patients at high-risk for developing breast cancer.
  • Describe personalized risk assessment programs that are available and beneficial to patients.
  • Interpret and explain results of assessments to patients, and understand the appropriate referral process.
  • Describe management of the high risk patient and considerations for genetic testing.
  • Describe the various caveats and implications of genetic testing that should be considered and discussed when counseling patients.
