Parkway students to get a health profession head start at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital

St. Louis-area high school students will get an early lesson in health care thanks to a new partnership with BJC HealthCare. The learning is part of a new Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy elective course approved by the Parkway School District's Board of Education June 13. The academy will involve Parkway, the Special School District of St. Louis County, and BJC HealthCare. Lessons will be taught at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. The academy will be a year-long course designed to prepare seniors for health and biomedical programs and careers.

14 Parkway seniors are in their second semester of the inaugural Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy, an elective course that exposes high school seniors interested in health and biomedical careers to professionals working in the field.
