The newly constructed Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital will open for patient care on November 5, 2019. In preparation, the hospital team will be moving from the current hospital to the new facility starting on November 1.
The current emergency room will remain open 24 hours a day during the move weekend, but community members are encouraged to visit another hospital in the area.

- Nov. 1 to Nov. 4 – If a patient would arrive at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital during this time and require admission, they will be transferred by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
- Nov. 5 – Patients will arrive at the new Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital emergency room for treatment, and if necessary admission. The emergency department is located on the east side off Barnes West Drive. All patients and visitors will use the temporary entrance, located by the emergency department. In early 2017, construction started on a replacement hospital, which is being built behind the existing hospital. The new Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital will provide a healing environment that is innovative, modern and efficient, designed to enhance the patient care for which we are known
